You never know what you may find when you go searching around the internet. I stumbled upon this proclamation for “Roundhouse Rodney Day” in 1974. The document says, “I, Wendell R. Anderson, Governor of the State of Minnesota, do hereby proclaim March 31, 1974, to be ROUNDHOUSE RODNEY DAY in Minnesota, and urge all citizens to join in honoring Lynn Dwyer for his efforts to bring to television more wholesome, refreshing and informative programs for our children.”

Wendell Anderson was governor of Minnesota from 1971 to 1976. The proclamation is signed and dated March 22, 1974. At that time, the Roundhouse Rodney show had just debuted on KTCA, channel 2. The document also notes that program was selected to be included in the “Fourth Annual International Festival of Children’s Television” at the Kennedy Center in Washington DC in spring 1974.
