He was the baby boomers’ childhood hero.
It was the 1950s and 60s and most mothers knew that lunchtime was synonymous with more than peanut butter sandwiches.
The Casey Jones express arrived on track 11 every noon hour for 20 years via the Minneapolis-based WTCN-Channel 11 television station.
“Lunch with Casey,” featuring Casey Jones and his sidekick Roundhouse Rodney, went off the air in 1973, but the previous 20 years were full of fun and laughter, all aimed at children.
